Description
Saint Lucy is the patroness of The Eyes, Blindness, and Eye Disorders.
Feast Day is December 13th
In my painting of St. Lucy, you will see that she has wings, although she is not an angel. I created the wings to represent St. Agatha. After several prayers at the tomb of St. Agatha, Lucy saw the Saint in a dream. St. Agatha told Lucy her mother’s illness would be cured through faith. An interesting fact is St. Lucy had her eyes removed, though no one is sure how or why. And St. Agatha was tortured and had her breast removed. Both are Virgin Martyrs. Yet, another example of the friendship of a Saint.
” Those whose hearts are pure, are temples of the Holy Spirit.” St. Lucy…pray for us!
I hope that having my artwork in your home reminds you of the deep friendship that is awaiting you, found in the love of the Saints.
